The game

What TendiesIQ is and isn't.

What is TendiesIQ?
TendiesIQ is a chart-reading game with a public leaderboard. You're handed an unmarked real-market chart (ticker hidden), you call UP / SIDEWAYS / DOWN with a target or range, and we fast-forward through the actual historical bars that came next. Your hit rate, points, and rank are public — it's a verifiable skill record, not a trading simulator.
Is this real money / paper trading / investment advice?
No. No real money, no paper trading, no broker integration, no financial advice. The points have no cash value. TendiesIQ is a credibility receipt, not a brokerage. Anything you call is purely a game move.
Where do the charts come from?
Real historical OHLCV bars sourced from Yahoo Finance at deploy time, baked into a JSON cache that ships with the site. At runtime we don't call any third-party endpoint — every bar you see comes from the local bundle. The round generator picks a random cached (asset, timeframe) pair, chooses a random anchor in its history, and reveals the bars that came after as you watch. No synthetic data, no live API dependence.
What can I predict on?
Three market categories: Forex (EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, etc. plus major crypto pairs treated as FX), Stocks & ETFs (S&P 500 names + a growing universe), and Futures (ES, NQ, CL, GC, ZB, …). Pick the filter in the top bar — your stats track which categories you read best.
What timeframes can I trade?
Five: 5m (predict ~4 hours out), 1h (~30 days), 4h (~6 months), 1w (1-2 years), and 1M (5-10 years). The prediction window scales with the chart timeframe — calling a 5-minute chart means a short-horizon move; a monthly chart means a multi-year secular trend.

Scoring

How points are earned and lost.

How do points work?
A correct call pays out positively; a wrong call deducts. Both amounts scale with boldness (how far from current price your target sits) and timeframe (longer horizons pay more because they're harder to call). A flat "stay long SPY" is worth less than a specific +4% in 30 days with a defined target.
Why do wrong calls cost points?
Stake-free games inflate. If wrong calls cost nothing, the top of the board is whoever clicks the most — not whoever reads the tape best. Wrong-call penalties make the leaderboard a real skill ranking instead of a click-count. That's the whole point of the credibility framing.
What's the streak multiplier?
Consecutive correct calls compound: 1.5× at a 2-streak, 2.0× at 4, 2.5× at 6, 3.0× at 9+. Bigger streak = bigger payout on each new win. One wrong call resets the streak to zero — bigger reason to be careful when you're running hot.
Safe / Balanced / Bold / Moonshot — what are these?
The chip that appears under your target preview. The farther your target is from the entry price, the bolder the tier. Bolder targets pay a higher multiplier on a hit AND cost more on a miss — same shape as a real-money payoff curve. Pick your conviction with that in mind.

Levels & rank

How the ladder works and what the titles mean.

How do levels work?
Each level costs roughly 1.45× the previous in cumulative points (starting at 200 for Level 2). The curve gets steeper at every rung — Level 10 sits at about 10 300 cumulative points, Level 20 at about 136 000. The steepness is deliberate so the badge next to your name actually means something.
Does every level have a different name?
Yes. Every level from 1 to 99 has its own unique title, grouped into five tiers: Initiate (1-20), Apprentice (21-40), Adept (41-60), Master (61-80), Mythic (81-99). Level 99 hits the apex: Tape Sovereign.
Can my rank go down?
Yes. Wrong calls deduct points; the leaderboard is sorted by net total. Top-100 spots can be lost if you start making bad calls — exactly the point. The board reflects current skill, not lifetime click-count.
What's "best on 4H" / "Forex" mean on the leaderboard?
Your profile tracks per-timeframe and per-asset-type stats. Best on 4H means that's the timeframe where you've earned the most net points; the asset chip (Forex / Stocks / Futures) is the same idea for market category. Both surface on your profile in their own panels.

Sync & profile

Moving your identity across devices.

What's a sync code?
A long random string that uniquely identifies your TendiesIQ profile. Open the 🔗 Sync popover in the header to reveal + copy yours. On another device, open the same popover and paste it into the "Coming from another device?" box — your handle, points, stats, and leaderboard row follow.
Should I share my sync code?
No. Treat it like a password. Anyone with your sync code can sign in as you on any device and play (or grief) under your name. Share your /u/<handle> profile URL or the /badge/<handle>.svg embed badge instead — those are read-only public views.
I'm new and there's no profile yet — why is "Your sync code" greyed out?
Because your code doesn't resolve to anything on the server until you have a profile. Play a round (or pick a handle in the header pill) and it unlocks. The paste-import box on the same popover stays enabled in this state — so you can paste an existing code right away.
Can I wipe my profile and start over?
Yes — open /profile and click the small "Reset profile" link at the bottom. That nukes your local stats, predictions, and settings. The previous KV row is left in place but stops updating; eventually it falls out of the top-100 if it doesn't move.

Sharing & embedding

Putting your TendiesIQ on the rest of the internet.

How do I share my profile?
On /profile click Share my stats — it copies a clean /u/<handle> URL (or uses the native share sheet on mobile). The link auto-renders a 1200×630 OG card on Twitter, Reddit, iMessage, Discord, Slack — anywhere link previews work.
Can I embed my TendiesIQ in my Substack / blog / README?
Yes. Use the badge route:
<img src="https://tendiesiq.com/badge/your-handle-tag.svg" />
It returns a 280×72 SVG sticker (handle, level, title, points) cached at the edge for 24h. CORS-open so any host can hot-link it.
I'm a trader — is there a version of the site pitched at me?
Yes — /for-traders is a credibility-first landing variant. Same backend, different framing. Link that one in your bio if your followers are wondering why they should care.
